Bilaspur, the second largest city in the state of Chhattisgarh, is a popular tourist destination among travelers from Chhattisgarh and surrounding states. Located in the eastern part of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur is popular among tourists for its historical sites, old temples and magnificent dams. The city is the second most developed city in the state and is known as an industrial and commercial city. The main commercial activities of the region revolves around the variety of mineral resources available here. Many small and big companies with their production or manufacturing units are located in Bilaspur.

Amont the popular historical tourism sites, Bilaspur is located near the town of Ratanpur and Chaiturgarh, which are known for their ancient forts with magnificent architectures. There are also some popular religious sites near Bilaspur including Malhar - with temples dating back to 10th century; Rudrashiv - with a 6th century Shiva idol; and Talagaon - known for its ancient temples. There is also the popular picnic spot of Kutaghat, which is a picturesque destination with nice surroudings located near the Kutaghat dam.
