Delhi, the capital city of the Federal Republic of India, is a travel destination that is full of tourist attractions. The plethora of tourist attractions in Delhi include historical forts and monuments, ancient temples and mosques, majest government buildings. museums and parks. The city is also popular among travelers for its variety of shopping options varying from old traditional markets to bustling malls. 

Delhi is one of the fastest growing cities in world, depicting a rich cultural, religious and architectural heritage.  Sprawled over the West Bank of river Yamuna, this metropolitan is among the largest cities of India having two distinct parts, Old Delhi & New Delhi. Old Delhi and New Delhi, both are very different from each other but provide a rich blend of past and present to this capital city of India.

The beauty of Old Delhi is centered around the magnificent Red Fort built by Emperor Shah Jehan. The narrow and bustling streets around the Fort is of great interest to travelers especially international tourists who love to witness and shop in this traditional part of city. Other major attractions in Old Delhi include the famous Jama Masjid, and the traditional markets of Chandni Chowk. The other historical attractions in Delhi include Purana Quila, Qutub Minar, Tughalaqabad fort and Humbayun's tomb

On the other hand, New Delhi with its magnificent government buildings and embassies, apart from places of historical interest, is a modern city designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. The city is well-planned that presents a fusion of power, politics, invasions, and conquests of free India. The main tourist attractions in New Delhi are India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament house and Jantar Mantar. There also multiple religous attractions in city including Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, ISKCON temple, Akshardham temple, Kalkaji Mandir and Laxmi Narayan temple.  

There are multiple tour operators that organize excursions, tours, and heritage walks. Delhi is also part of the Golden triangle tourism circuit that include Agra and Jaipur. The city has one of the best international airport in country and the city is the starting point for international travelers.
