New Delhi, capital city of the Federal Republic of India, is one of fastest growing cities with its glorious past. Sprawled over the West Bank of the river Yamuna, Delhi is the third largest city of India having two distinct parts, Old Delhi & New Delhi. Old Delhi and New Delhi, both are very different from each other but provide a rich blend of past and the present to this capital city of India. The beauty of Old Delhi is centered on the Red Fort built by Emperor Shah Jehan with its narrow and bustling streets lies inside the courts of the main buildings. Mosques, forts and other monuments that represent India's history are main attractions of Old Delhi. On the other hand, New Delhi with its huge government buildings and embassies, apart from places of historical interest, is a modern city designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. The city is well-planned that presents a fusion of power, politics, invasions, and conquests of free India.
