Haryana Tourism
Situated in northern part of India, Haryana is bordered by the states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in the north, Rajasthan in the west and south and Uttar Pradesh in the east. Spread over an area of 44,212 sq. km., Haryana itself surrounds Delhi from three sides, forming the northern, western and southern boundaries of the National Capital Region. For administrative purpose, Haryana is divided into four divisions namely – Ambala, Gurgaon, Hisar and Rohtak. Chandigarh, the union territory, is the capital of Haryana state and the cities of Gurgaon, Panipat, Faridabad and Panchkula are industrial hubs of the state. Enriched with a colorful culture and heritage, Haryana blends the modern with the traditional way of life. Main occupation of Haryana state is agriculture. It is a modern state with good transportation facilities and important industries. The state has a number of tourist destinations which attract thousand of tourists every year. Haryana is also known for its Golf tourism and Adventure tourism. The state has some truly amazing golf courses, which offer world-class atmosphere and facilities.
Haryana is so-called birth place of the Hindu religion; it is believed that Aryans were sung the first hymns here and many Vedic manuscripts were written on the land of Haryana. The great battle of Mahabharat between the Kauravas and Pandavas, took place at Kurukshetra, Haryana.
