Karnataka is a land full of rich cultural heritage, religious hot spots, scenic flora and fauna and beautiful beaches. Karnataka is a state that can be classified to be a contrasting state with beautiful palaces and temples as well as huge concrete structures that can be called as marvel of modern engineering. Karnataka state government is running on a war footing to develop the state as a tourist hub. In 2002 the Karnataka state government has decided to give special treatment to entrepreneurs for developing tourism in the state. There are also a great treat of history lovers in Karnataka at places like Srirangapatna and Mysore. Tourists looking for enjoying nature can find paradise in Karnataka with places like Coorg, Gokarna beach, and Karwar beach. The churches of Mysore, Mangalore, Bangalore and Bijapur indicate the contribution of Christians to the great heritage of Karnataka. Adventure tourism can also be found in abundance in Karnataka with opportunities like river rafting, trekking, camping etc.
