About Koraput

Koraput, a place surrounded by forests, mountains and waterfalls, is a part of the tribal belt of Orissa. Most of the area of Koraput was covered under thick forest until some years ago, forming an abode of many aboriginal tribes. However, due to deforestation and industrialization these tribes of Koraput are adopting to modernity. A tourist however can have a glimpse of their traditions and culture during the tribal festival called Parab which is organized in Koraput in the month of November (2nd-3rd week).
