About Kottayam

Kottayam is located in the south central part of Kerala, at a distance of 150 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. The town is an important trading center of spices and commercial crops, especially rubber. Kottayam provides some of Kerala's finest natural scenes sandwiched as it is between serene palm-fringed backwaters on the west and the Western Ghats on the east. The city provides an amazing experience to tourists with its backwater stretches, lush paddy fields, highlands, hills and hillocks, and extensive rubber plantations.
