About Vijayawada

Vijayawada, third largest city in Andhra Pradesh, is located on the bank of Krishna River. Situated on the eastern side of Andhra Pradesh, at a distance of 275 kms from Hyderabad, the city of Vijayawada is a major trade and business center. The city of Vijayawada is beautifully located on the banks of River Krishna, bounded by Indrakiladri hills on the West and Budameru River on the North.

Vijayawada also has a legend attached that Arjuna appeased Lord Shiva on the Indrakiladri hills and was bestowed by the 'Pasupathasthra' weapon. Also, it is believed that Goddess Durga rested here after killing the demon called Mahishasura.
