About Vrindavan
Vrindavan is a beautiful place on the banks of River Yamuna, at a distance of 15 km from Mathura. Vrindavan is a major place of pilgrimage and the place where Lord Krishna is said to have spent his childhood or so called play ground of Lord Krishna. Vrindavan is called the City of Temples, with around 5000 temples. Vrindavan is about 10 km from Mathura, the city of Lord Krishna's birthplace, near the Agra-Delhi highway.

History of Vrindavan
Vrindavan holds an important place in the Hindu mythology and is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. It is believed that Vrindavan lost its place in history till 16th century, when it was rediscovered by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was able to find locate various place in and around Vrindavan that were related to Lord Krishna's pastimes. Slowly the forestation around Vrindavan has gone with time due to urbanization and development.
