About Panchkula - Panchkula Tourism

Panchkula is a well planned and evergreen city of Haryana state, surrounded by Himachal Pradesh in the north and east, Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh in the west and by Ambala district in the south as well as east. It is the 17th district of Haryana state in India.

The origin of the name Panchkula is based on the five irrigation canals (Panch = five and Kul means canal) that take water from the Ghaggar in the uphill section and distribute it from Nada Sahib to Mansa Devi. There are five towns in the Panchkula district, Pinjore, Kalka, Barwala, Morni and Raipur Rani. Morni Hills, the only Hill station in Haryana, constitute the highest point of the district as well as of Haryana.

The town of Panchkula is located in a strategic position and easily accessible from all nearby cities and towns. Flights can be taken to the nearest airport of Chandigarh and from Chandigarh, bus or taxi can be taken to the town of Panchkula.
